I.Computer HARDWARE booting Issues :

. 1.If system is not Switched On –  POWER/SMPS  issue :     No Power?    

v Check the Switch
v Check the Power Card (Cable)
v Check the SMPS.
v Check the front Panel (POWER-Switch) Connections
v Check The SMPS (black & Green)

22.If System is  Switched On – Mother Board / PROCESSOR Issue.
    
      No Power in Mother Board ( SMPS Fan working, Processor Fan Not working) ?      

v Check the mother board (Green Light) /
(if remove the RAM – listen Beep sound)
Check CMOS Jumper (BIOS Configuration) :
Remove Jumper & CMOS battery
No jumper > Clear                  
2-3 >   Configuration
1-2 >    Normal
v Check the  processor  -( Repeating High/Low musical sound)

33.Power ON but  No Display in Monitor  - RAM / DISPLAY PORT ISSUE
( SMPS Fan working, Processor Fan working)

v Check whether RAM is fixed properly in the slot (continuous Beep Sound)
Clean the RAM Pins, by using Eraser (or) IP Alcohol with cotton cloth

v Check Monitor Power Card (No display)
v Check Monitor Cable ( Cable not Connected- Monitor)
v Check the VGA port / VGA Cable ( No signal)
v Check display card (VGA/DVI/HDMI) is fixed properly in a slot (or)
Change the Slot
v Check whether Monitor changed (Reset the screen Resolution)


II. Computer OS  booting Issues :

1.      OS Not Booting (Even OS starting screen)

OS Booting Problem (BIOS working)

i)                    Check OS file Missing or corrupted ( NTLDR Missing, System 32.dll missing, Boot mgr Missing, Error Loading OS)

ii)                  Check the HDD is detected (Hard disk not detected)

iii)                Check the Processor & its Fan (Heat).

iv)                Check BIOS ( press  DEL, F2, F10 key, enter BIOS setup & wait for 30 minutes)
If system restart in BIOS then BIOS issues otherwise OS issue.


2.      OS Booting Problem (OS windows working Stars & continuous Restart)

i)                    Check VIRUS issue
ii)                  Check Safe Mode
iii)                Check Last know good configuration
iv)                Check Stop restart from system failure
v)                  Check Repair option ( 1st & 2nd )
vi)                Restore OS (Laptop- press restore key)
vii)              Blue Screen Error(Dump Error) : Check RAM & Hard disk
viii)            Re-install the OS.


                                                             
HARDWARE INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

1. Computer reboot frequently?   

v Virus is one of the main reasons for continuous rebooting. Check whether Computer is infected by virus and install antivirus
v Check SMPS Power supply voltage properly (Black & Green) / multi meter
v Check Processor  Fan is working properly Check Processor is fixed with socket properly
v Check processor shutdown Temperature in BIOS.

2. Missing OS?  Error Loading OS.

v OS booting files corrupted.
v OS Booting files corrupted – OS Repair
v Hard disk issue – chkdsk /r
v Partition is not set active – Disk Management.

3. Printer is Not working?

v Check the Power Supply (Power Cable).
v Check printer Cable
v Check Printer Driver
v Check the connectivity between the print server and client system.
v Check the Fuse in the Printer
v If fuse blows out frequently, there may be short circuit in the Power Supply Connection.

 4. Drive not Ready. Insert the CD Abort, Retry and Fail?
       
v Boot disk is not present in the drive.( To insert the CD into the CD-ROM).
v When copying the file, if cd removed from the Drive the error will occur.
v CD/DVD Rom and Read Writer failed .
v Old CD/DVD.
v OS files missing in CD.

5. As soon as the switch is on in a computer. If we get one big beep sound and two   small beep sound and no display?

            Check VGA Card. Replace VGA Card.
  
6. When switch on the computer if there is continuous beep sound without
display?
v Check the RAM whether it is fixed properly
v Clean the RAM pin with Eraser (or) Alcohol
v Replace RAM.

7. Please wait…. Windows is shutting down?    

v Windows OS incompatible with computer Hardware.
v Uninstall the newly install software. Then check whether the computer is shutting down properly.
v In case the problem continues, then go to safe mode [F8] and then shut down the Computer.

8. Not Responding? 
v There are many reasons for this error generally if there is not enough space in the RAM (or) Illegal calls.

9. “Out of disk Space”?       
v If there is not enough space for windows operation.
v Open internet explorer and open tools menu and the click internet operation click delete files and delete all the temporary and internet files and then click ok.

10Computer Shocks ?   
    
v Improper earthing, Do earthing properly and replace power card.


11. SMPS storage voltage ? Troubleshooting ?

Storage Voltage : 220 t0 230 v AC , Output Voltage: 12V, 5V & 3V.
Insert one end of the electrical wire  into the green terminal and the other end to the black terminal.

13.How to Repair the Hard disk ?

i)                    Use Check disk  ( Run – cmd –  chkdsk /r)

ii)                  Use OS Repair Option: 1st   & 2nd repair.

 DDR2: (center cut @ 7.1cm)

This allows it to transfer data four times per clock cycle (compared to twice in the case of DDR).

DDR3: (center cut @ 5.4cm)
 It can transfer data eight times per clock cycle.

DDR4: (center cut @ 7.2cm)
 It can transfer data eight times per clock cycle.

17) What is BSOD?  What do you do when you get blue screen in a computer? How do you troubleshoot it?

BSOD stands for Blue Screen Of Death.

when there is a hardware or OS fault due to which the windows OS can run it give a blue screen with a code. Best way to resolve it is to boot the computer is "Last known good configuration". If this doesn't work than boot the computer in safe mode. If it boots up than the problem is with one of the devices or drivers.
